SolarGrade is made by HelioVolta. We’re renewable energy experts that provide software and services for a future powered by clean energy. Our mission is to ensure that renewable energy and storage assets are responsible power sources for generations to come.
Clean energy assets are fundamentally safe and reliable when properly installed and maintained. But construction crews are under pressure to work faster than ever before. There are not enough O&M workers to meet demand.
The climate cannot afford underperforming or unreliable clean energy assets. We must build projects right and keep them running - and we cannot slow down.
Our co-founders, David Penalva and James Nagel, have logged thousands of hours on-site as field engineers and NABCEP-certified PV System Inspectors.
They know the pain of frustrating fieldwork tools. They believe that with the right software, every technician can provide industry-leading construction quality and asset care. With the right data, asset management becomes asset care.

In 2022, SolarGrade won the American-Made Solar Challenge for Software, and in 2023, the Department of Energy awarded HelioVolta a grant to further develop SolarGrade’s data analytics and digital twinning capabilities.
