Accounts & Billing

1. How do I manage my account?

You can manage your account in the account management section of SolarGrade. First, click your name in the top right corner, then select Settings. 

We separate settings into two different buckets: 

1. User Settings

This is where you can choose your own personal preferences, such as language, connected accounts, and contact information. 

2. Account Settings

This is only available to the owner of an account. Here they can set name the account, set preferences, and evaluate their billing information. Some of the preferences they can set are a default account report customization and adding a watermark to all images in their account. 

2. Billing Structure

SolarGrade is billed with a Software as a Service (SaaS) structure. Subscriptions are typically billed monthly, but there is an annual option as well. The subscription pricing is based on value-add pricing.

There are three subscription levels: pro, business, enterprise, and enterprise unlimited. More information about subscription and pricing details can be found on the SolarGrade pricing page. 

There are two account types on SolarGrade:

  1. Registered
  2. Non-registered

Accounts can be independently registered or invited to a company or team space. Users can be invited to multiple spaces, allowing them to segment their work between different teams and companies.

For example: 

John is a 3rd party inspector working for both Company A and Company B and has access to both their spaces.

Paul is a director and has access to both Company A’s EPC and O&M spaces.

3. Customizing Your Company Account

Please note: this function is only permitted by the account owner

  • Log in to SolarGrade
  • Select your avatar or name in the top right corner
  • Select Settings
  • Under the header, Account Settings, select Account
  • Upload your company logo and rename the company account 
  • Then click SAVE 
3. Choosing a language

SolarGrade supports several languages. This includes English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, and Bulgarian.

To choose your account, please follow the following directions. 

  • Log in to SolarGrade
  • Click your account avatar in the top right corner
  • Select "Settings"
  • Select "My Preferences"
  • Use the dropdown menu for language to choose your preferred language
  • Select SAVE
4. Transferring Account Ownership

Please note: this function is only permitted by the current account owner

  • Log in to SolarGrade
  • Navigate to the Teams page
  • Find the team member that you want to transfer ownership to
  • Use the dropdown menu for their role to select "Owner"
  • They will then receive an email invitation to accept the invitation to be account owner
5. How to create a subscription

Getting started with a SolarGrade subscription is quick and straightforward. This article guides you through selecting a plan and entering your billing details to activate your account.

Note: Only the account owner can create or manage a subscription. Make sure you are logged in as the owner before following these steps.

Steps

1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the SolarGrade platform.
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
3. Navigate to the Billing Information tab.
4. Review the metrics shown to understand your current usage and needs.
5. Click Create Subscription to begin the setup process.
6. Choose your desired plan from the available options.
7. Enter your billing information, including payment method and billing address.
8. Click Create Subscription to confirm and activate your plan.

Not sure which plan is right for you? Consider your team size, the number of active projects, and the features you need most. You can always upgrade later from the Billing Information page.

6. How to edit your subscription

From the Edit Subscription screen, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan, update payment details, or adjust your billing cycle. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing period unless otherwise noted.

Steps

1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the SolarGrade platform.
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
3. Navigate to the Billing Information tab.
4. Review your current plan and usage metrics displayed on the page.
5. Click Edit Subscription to make changes to your plan.
