Q3 is packed with power.
We’ve been hard at work all summer developing new ways to streamline your site visits, reports, and overall project management. This includes everything from smarter integrations to cleaner collaborative tools, it’s now easier than ever to share, assign, and close the loop. These updates are built to help your team collaborate internally and externally and get more done in SolarGrade.
APIs
Procore Improvements
You can now create issues with photos in Procore and have them sync automatically into SolarGrade. This enhanced bi-directional integration makes project coordination even smoother.
SITE VISITS & TEMPLATES
SG Lite
Available for Enterprise Accounts Only
SG Lite is a simplified, web-based version of a site visit form that can be accessed on both desktop and mobile devices where there is cellular service. It enables SolarGrade users to share site visits or punchlists with external contractors who do not have access to SolarGrade. It does not require a SolarGrade license. This feature is designed to help teams close the loop by allowing subcontractors to remediate issues directly.
Geo Notes
Available for All Accounts
This new informational item combines the geolocation, photo, document, and text informational items into one, so you can capture everything in one place. You can use multiple pin colors and shapes (including solar icons!) to flag issues, categorize notes, and highlight areas of interest, making your maps more flexible, visual, and easy to understand.
Note: all failures and non-conformities should be issue items, not geo-notes.
Meta Data Watermark on Photos
Available for All Accounts By Request
Automatically add a watermark to photos that validates the date, time and location (latitude and longitude) of the capture. This feature provides photo documentation of site and equipment conditions that is time-stamped and geo-referenced. The watermark is designed to support ITC safe harbor compliance documentation.
Please note: users must have location services turned on for your camera in order to capture the location.

Differentiation Between “Required” and “Required Photo” Items
Available for All Accounts
No more wondering which photos are mandatory and which are optional. Tasks with an asterisk only need completion, while a camera icon means a photo is required (regardless of whether it is pass or fail). This clarity saves time and reduces rework so your team knows exactly what’s needed.
Timestamp Data Includes User
Available for All Accounts
Every timestamp now includes both the date/time and the user who triggered the action. It’s easier than ever to track who did what, and when.
MOBILE APP
Mobile App Data Notifications
Available for All Accounts
Never get caught off guard by data usage. The mobile app now gives you a heads-up when you hit 300 MB, so you can stay ahead and optimize performance. It’s designed to keep things running smoothly without slowing you down in the field.
ISSUES
Include Project Address, State, and Client in .csv Exports
Available for All Accounts
Make sorting through issues even easier and get deeper analytics by including more project information in the .csv exports. You can filter by client or state in addition to project, section, category, severity, etc.
REPORTS
Report Customization Improvements
Available for All Accounts
Reports now show issue counts at the section level, not just the total. Get clearer insights into where issues are concentrated as you thumb through the latest report.
PROJECTS
Project Status
Available for All Accounts
Track and manage your projects with new statuses like Development, Construction, and Operations & Maintenance. You can easily update project statuses, assign completion dates, filter by status, and view a full history of changes—just like inspection notes.
Custom ID for Projects
Available for All Accounts
Add your own internal or external project codes with the new optional “Project ID” field. These IDs are searchable from the dashboard and appear neatly under the project title for quick reference, without cluttering your project table.
Custom ID in .csv Exports & Imports
Available for All Accounts
Take control of your project data with custom IDs now included in both .csv exports and imports. This makes it easier than ever to organize, track, and sync information between SolarGrade and your other tools. Your data, your way — streamlined and flexible.
Improved Site Visit Filter
Available for All Accounts
Now you can sort site visits by title in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order. Quickly find what you need with A-Z and Z-A options right in the filter menu.

Ability to Merge with Default Template

Like our templates and want to combine with one of your own? No problem. You can now merge with a default template.
Template Document Uploads
Available for All Accounts
Add PDFs directly to templates and have them automatically appear in site visits. Whether it’s safety guidelines, checklists, or reference docs, your team always has the right information in the right place. It’s a simple way to bring context and consistency to every visit.
PLANNER
Kanban View of Work Order Tasks
Available for All Accounts
View work order tasks in a kanban board grouped by status. It’s a faster way to prioritize and knock out the most urgent items.
